Sharpen One Another

“As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” – Proverbs 27:17

When I first read about this verse, I first thought it to deal with men to work together, to bond with each other and help each other out. But really what it’s saying is that, everyone should be doing it, not just men, for God does not believe in sexism. As Christians we have the responsibility to grow spiritually, but we can do so much more with others than just by ourselves.

As the saying goes ‘2 heads is better than 1’. When we begin to share our experiences to others, and likewise listen to others, we begin to learn more about God through others and by confessing what we have done, we allow our spirit to be lifted. So lets be people that seek to lift and encourage others, rather than ignoring the chance when it presents itself.
